Admission Steps

  1. Complete and submit a BC Application for Admission. Joint enrollment applicants and LPN applicants also must complete a supplemental application (available from the Office of Admissions).
  2. Have official transcripts mailed to BC Admissions Office from all high schools/colleges/technical schools attended.
  3. Take required entrance test(s). Degree program applicants must take the COMPASS. Applicants who score a 480 on the SAT I Verbal AND a 440 on the SAT I Math are not required to take the COMPASS. Certificate program applicants must take only the COMPASS. Degree program applicants who have been out of school for 5 or more years are not required to take the SAT I. Applicants to AA degree programs have to meet Board of Regents minimum admission criteria.
  4. Submit a Certificate of Immunization Form.

Additional Admission Steps

  • Amendment 23 Fee Waiver for Persons 62 and Older – is a tuition waiver program for applicants who are 62 years of age or older, are Georgia residents, and who wish to enroll in classes without payment of fees, except for supply, lab, and/or shop fees. Applicants must provide documents showing proof that they meet these requirements. Please contact the Admissions & Records Department to get more information.
  • Auditing Classes – Applicants who submit evidence of graduation from an accredited or approved high school or GED certificate may register for courses as auditors. No academic or degree credit shall be awarded to auditing students. Students registered as auditors shall be required to pay the regular tuition and fees for enrollment. Students must inform the Admissions & Records Department and the professor at the time of registration, that they wish to audit the course. Notice to Technical Studies Certificate Applicants: To be admitted to Bainbridge College as a Certificate student, one of the following minimum Compass scores MUST be made: Reading-31; Basic Math-26; English-16. If one of these scores is not attained, applicants will be referred to the Computer Assisted Learning Center for basic skill instruction.

International Students Application

Admission Requirements For International Students

Please note: bainbridge college does not provide living facilities. All students commute from nearby communities, mostly by automobile since the distance to the college is not convenient for walking. Please do not apply unless commuting arrangements can be made.

Non-resident tuition and fees for one academic year: $5,716.00

The following documents must be submitted in order to be considered for admission to Bainbridge College.

  1. Complete the Application for Admission of International Students Form.
  2. Complete the Certificate of Financial Support Form.
    This form must be signed and certified by a bank official.
  3. English Proficiency Requirement: International students whose first language is not English must also demonstrate English language proficiency. Generally, English proficiency is measured by the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The TOEFL score for admission to Bainbridge College is 523 on the paper TOEFL or 193 on the computer TOEFL. Non-native speakers of English who meet minimum SAT I Verbal or ACT English admission requirements do not need to take TOEFL for admission purposes.
  4. Provide a certified copy of high school transcript (work) translated into English.
  5. Provide a list of all previous schooling (high school or after high school).
  6. Provide proof of a physical examination and the results of the examination.
  7. Name a sponsor who will be financially and personally responsible for you during your stay in the U.S. and provide a written statement from the individual certifying personal and financial responsibility. The sponsor must also pay for health insurance to be acquired once the student enters the U.S.

All of the above documents must be submitted prior to the issuance of an I-20 student visa.

Additional requirements:

  • Admitted students will be required to take two placement tests prior to their being able to register for classes.
  • Students must carry a full load Fall & Spring semester.

GaCollege411.org Simplifies Applying for College

Applying for admission at Georgia's 35 public colleges and universities is easy with the Georgia Applications and Electronic Advisor System - called "GaCollege411.org". This comprehensive website and electronic search engine designed by the University System of Georgia to provide students with college admissions, career, and financial aid information.

Both recent high school graduates and returning adult learners will find the GaCollege411.org website useful. The site provides all of the necessary information to apply properly for admission at any of the State's 35 public colleges and universities.

Enthusiasm for the electronic system runs high. Students can apply to multiple institutions online faster than by mail to each institution. They can access information about career options and the HOPE scholarship in one place.

BC is accessible to people from all walks of life, offering more than 40 programs, degrees and certificates, including over 60 offered through cooperative agreements. This makes BC the best educational resource in Southwest Georgia.

Final grades on the web

Students now have the capability of viewing their grades at the end of each semester on the Web. Grade mailers are no longer sent to students. Students grades will be posted on the Bainbridge College Web page at www.bainbridge.edu.

In order to assist you, follow this step-by-step process to view your grades:

  1. Log on to the Bainbridge College web site.
  2. Click on the Students tab and select Admissions and Records.
  3. Click on Banner Web on the left side of the page.
  4. You will be at the "Student Responsibility" page. Please read this page carefully. If you agree with the conditions, indicate this to continue. Click Enter Secure Area and type in you User ID (your social security number) and you PIN.
  5. Click Enter Secure Area
  6. Click on "Student and Financial Aid."
  7. On the next page, click on "Student Records."
  8. Click on "Final Grades."

If a student loses or forgets his or her PIN, he or she will have to come to the Admissions Office with a photo ID to obtain it. The Admissions Office will not release PINs and grades over the phone. For more information, please call the Admissions Office at 229-248-2504.  

Information for Transfer Students

Transcripts

In addition to all required admission documentation, the transfer student is responsible to have his/her official transcript(s) sent to Bainbridge College from every college or university he/she has previously attended. Once all admission documentation and all college and university transcripts have been received, the student’s transfer credits will be entered into his/her Bainbridge College record. All transcripts must be official, and must be delivered to the Admissions Department in the institution’s sealed envelope.

Transfer Admissions Requirements

If a student has fewer than 30 semester hours of earned transfer credit, freshman admission standards will apply. Admission requirements can be found in the Admission Steps section.

Evaluation of Transfer Credits

The courses which are accepted by Bainbridge College, and transferred to a student’s record, will be posted to the student’s BANNER Web account. If the student has a question concerning the courses transferred to their account, the student should contact the Admission & Records Department located in the Student Center at (229) 248-2504.
Transfer courses accepted by Bainbridge College will be given an equivalent Bainbridge College course prefix and number.; If Bainbridge College does not have an equivalent course, then elective course credit will be given to the student where a 100 or 1000-level course will transfer in as a 1---, and a 200 or 2000-level course will transfer in as 2---.; The student should contact his/her academic counselor to verify where, if at all, such a class will fit into the student’s program of study.  300 and 3000, and 400 and 4000-level courses are not normally accepted as transfer courses at Bainbridge College since these courses can possibly be accepted by a 4-year institution.

Acceptance of Transfer Credits

Bainbridge College only accepts college-level courses completed at a post-secondary institution that is accredited by one of the following Commission on Colleges (COC) regional accrediting organizations:

Maximum Transfer Credits

In order to earn a degree or certificate from Bainbridge College, a student must complete at least 18 credit hours required for the student’s program of study at Bainbridge College.

University System of Georgia Transfer Credits

Bainbridge College adheres to the University System of Georgia articulation agreement concerning transfer of core areas between University System of Georgia institutions. Information on the transfer of core curriculum can be found here.

Transfer of Test Scores and Coursework from the Technical College System of Georgia

Bainbridge College adheres to the University System of Georgia articulation agreement concerning transfer of test scores and coursework from all Technical College System of Georgia institutions accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Transfer of repeated courses

If a student completes a particular class more than one time at another institution or institutions, and if that course is accepted by Bainbridge College, Bainbridge College will transfer the higher of the two grades into the students account.

To Amoco Fabrics: Turn left from the front entrance onto U.S. 84. Turn left onto the U.S. 84 Bypass. It will become U.S.27 North. Turn left into the Decatur County Industrial Park following the signs for the airport. Amoco is located on the right about a quarter mile down the road.

To Colquitt Arts and Education Center: Turn left from the front entrance onto U.S. 84. Turn left onto the U.S. 84 Bypass. It will become U.S.27 North. After the Colquitt city limits sign, turn right at the Inland station. At the second stop sign, turn left. The Center is one mile ahead on the left across from Cotton Hall.

To Bainbridge Memorial Hospital: Turn left from the front entrance onto U.S. 84. Travel two miles. Turn left into the main entrance across from the McDonald's.

To Cairo High School: Turn right from the front entrance onto U.S. 84. After entering Cairo city limits, turn right onto 5th St. NE (GA 188). Continue for 7/10 of a mile and the high school will be on the left.

To Early County High School: Turn left from the front entrance onto U.S. 84. Turn left onto the U.S. 84 Bypass. It will become U.S.27 North. After the Blakely city limits sign, Turn left onto Columbia St. (GA 62). The high school is located less than a quarter mile down the street.

To Decatur County Sheriff''s Office: Turn left from the front entrance onto U.S. 84. Turn left onto the U.S. 84 Bypass. Take the Spring Creek Road exit. Turn left onto Spring Creek Road and travel one mile. The Office will be on your right.

To Seminole County High School: Turn left from the front entrance onto U.S. 84. Turn left onto the U.S. 84 Bypass. Take the Donalsonville/Dothan exit. Turn left onto U.S. 84 West. Upon entering Donalsonville, turn left at the first traffic light. Travel 6.5 miles. The high school will be on the right.

To Lewis M. Carter Manufacturing: Turn left from the front entrance onto U.S. 84. Turn left onto the U.S. 84 Bypass. Take the Donalsonville/Dothan exit. Turn left onto U.S. 84 West. Go through two stop lights.  After the Dairy Queen and Pizza Hut, LMC will be on the left about 1/4 mile. 

To Miller County Hospital: Turn left from the front entrance onto U.S. 84. Turn left onto the U.S. 84 Bypass. It will become U.S.27 North. After the Colquitt city limits sign, turn right onto South 1st St. Turn left onto Main Street (GA 91 S./GA 45 S.). Turn right onto North Cuthbert Street and the hospital is located one block ahead.

To Miller County High School: Turn left from the front entrance onto U.S. 84. Turn left onto the U.S. 84 Bypass. It will become U.S.27 North. After the Colquitt city limits sign, turn right at the Inland station. Take a left and immediate right in front of the Jiffy Mart. At the stop sign, turn right. The school is the first entrance on your right.

To Southwest Georgia Film Center: Turn left from the front entrance onto U.S. 84. Turn left onto the U.S. 84 Bypass. It will become U.S.27 North. After the Colquitt city limits sign, you will see a grey building on the right (Chamber of Commerce) with a wooden Indian in front of it. Veer to the right and follow it to the square. Take the next right. The SGFC is located ahead in the purple building at 104 North First Street in the Henny Penny Production Company building.

To Seminole County Workforce Center: Turn left from the front entrance onto U.S. 84. Turn left onto the U.S. 84 Bypass. Take the Donalsonville/Dothan exit. Turn left onto U.S. 84 West. After entering Donalsonville, turn right onto Friendship Avenue. The Workforce Center is at the end of the street on the left. 

To YMCA: Turn left from the front entrance onto U.S. 84. After the stop light, pass the turn lane for the Bypass and, across from Bryan Hight Veterinary Clinic, turn left.
