Information for Transfer Students

Information for Transfer Students

Transcripts

In addition to all required admission documentation, the transfer student is responsible to have his/her official transcript(s) sent to Bainbridge College from every college or university he/she has previously attended.  Once all admission documentation and all college and university transcripts have been received, the student’s transfer credits will be entered into his/her Bainbridge College record.  All transcripts must be official, and must be delivered to the Admissions Department in the institution’s sealed envelope.

Transfer Admissions Requirements

If a student has fewer than 30 semester hours of earned transfer credit, freshman admission standards will apply.  Admission requirements are posted at: http://www.bainbridge.edu/student/admi_reco/adm_step.htm.

Evaluation of Transfer Credits

The courses which are accepted by Bainbridge College, and transferred to a student’s record, will be posted to the student’s BANNER Web account.  If the student has a question concerning the courses transferred to their account, the student should contact the Admission & Records Department located in the Student Center at (229) 248-2504.
Transfer courses accepted by Bainbridge College will be given an equivalent Bainbridge College course prefix and number.  If Bainbridge College does not have an equivalent course, then elective course credit will be given to the student where a 100 or 1000-level course will transfer in as a 1---, and a 200 or 2000-level course will transfer in as 2---.  The student should contact his/her academic counselor to verify where, if at all, such a class will fit into the student’s program of study.  300 and 3000, and 400 and 4000-level courses are not normally accepted as transfer courses at Bainbridge College since these courses can possibly be accepted by a 4-year institution.
