10K added to Purple Heart runs

Bainbridge State College’s Student Veterans of America organization will host its Purple Heart 5K and one-mile walk, along with a newly added 10K run, on Saturday, March 15, beginning at 9 a.m. The runs begin at the College, located at 2500 E. Shotwell St., and the races will all take place on the Bainbridge State campus. The courses consist of both asphalt road and cross-country terrain. Early County center hosting TEAS V Study Sessions

Study session will be hosted by the Bainbridge State College Early County Center’s Academic Success Center staff in order to help students prepare for their upcoming TEAS exam. Sessions will be held on the following days: Wednesday, March 19, from 5 to 7 p.m. for Part I: English and Reading. Thursday, March 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. for Part II: Math and Science. Bainbridge State College Associate Professor Tatyana Pashnyak’s presentation on using social media apps to meet students’ needs in academic advising has won a “Best in the State” award. Chicago’s legendary comedy theater The Second City marked its 54th year with the touring company’s “Happily Ever Laughter” series at Bainbridge State College on Jan. 30. Cleveland donation increases scholarship opportunities

Two Bainbridge State College students from Early County will each now have the opportunity for $1,000 scholarships, thanks to Dr. Patricia Cleveland’s generous donation to the Marvin and Raymond Singletary Fund. Prior to Dr. Cleveland’s recent donation, one student from Early County was eligible for the Singletary scholarship, but  because of her donation, the scholarship fund now has enough invested to perpetually provide for two $1,000 scholarships. “Receiving such a scholarship can truly be life-changing in many cases because some of our students have difficult…
