10K added to Purple Heart runs

Bainbridge State College’s Student Veterans of America organization will host its Purple Heart 5K and one-mile walk, along with a newly added 10K run, on Saturday, March 15, beginning at 9 a.m. The runs begin at the College, located at 2500 E. Shotwell St., and the races will all take place on the Bainbridge State campus. The courses consist of both asphalt road and cross-country terrain. Cleveland donation increases scholarship opportunities

Two Bainbridge State College students from Early County will each now have the opportunity for $1,000 scholarships, thanks to Dr. Patricia Cleveland’s generous donation to the Marvin and Raymond Singletary Fund. Award-winning poet Andrew Hudgins will visit Bainbridge State College’s main campus on Tuesday, Feb. 4. At 4:30 p.m., Hudgins will give a craft lecture for aspiring writers.
