Bainbridge State College recently honored 58 of its students who have shown positive work ethics. Fifty-one students were recognized in a ceremony held on April 10 at the Charles H. Kirbo Regional Center on the main Bainbridge State campus, and eight students were recognized in a ceremony held on April 17 at the Early County Campus in Blakely. Ralph retires from Bainbridge State’s library

  Bainbridge State College Library Director Susan Ralph recently retired, ending her era of helping move the library toward a digital age and greater expansion. Ralph was appointed the College’s library director in 2006. Two years later, Ralph successfully transferred the College’s microfilm files of Bainbridge newspapers to computer disks, which was the first of its kind in Georgia. Bainbridge State College’s Early County Chorus recently held its 6thAnnual Spring Concert on April 28 in the main lobby of the Blakely campus. The concert also included members of the Early County High School Chorus and Show Choir. By AMIE SEIDMAN Assistant Professor of English About 60 area students competed in the 28th Annual Bainbridge State College Essay Competition for high school juniors and seniors on April 15 at the Charles H. Kirbo Regional Center. All the students were required to write a spontaneous essay of 600 to 700 words within a two-hour period. The students were asked to pick one of four topics to write about. BSC students ‘Make a Date’ with Mother Nature

Members of the Bainbridge State College Social Science Club “made a date” with Mother Nature by planting a dozen Medjool date seedlings in honor of this year’s Arbor Day.
