BENEFITS SUMMARY
Effective July 1, 2004
The following contains a brief summary of benefits available to full-time benefits-eligible employees of Bainbridge College. Further details and information will be provided at Employee Orientation or upon request. Contact us at 229-248-2520 or e-mail in the Office of Human Resources.
Health Insurance
Employee pays monthly premiums, BC contributes 75% of total premium. The three health insurance plans offered are:
- Indemnity Plan
- Preferred Provider Option (PPO)
- Preferred Provider Option (PPO) with Consumer Choice Plan
- High Deductible/Health Plan

Dental Benefits
- Employee pays monthly premiums
- Full coverage, wellness package paid at 100% with no deductible.
- $50 deductible per covered individual
- $1,000 annual maximum per individual, $1,000 lifetime orthodontic

Vacation (Non-Faculty Only)
Pro-rated based on years of service as follows:
- 1 – 5 years of service = 10 hours for each full month
- 6 – 10 years of service = 12 hours for each full month
- 11+ years of service = 14 hours for each full month
An employee can only carry over a maximum of 360 hours on January 1 st of each year.
Sick
- 8 hours for each full month (no maximum)

Teachers Retirement System
- State Retirement System - 5% of gross annual salary, matched with 9.28% employer contribution (10 year vesting period).

Section 125
- Medical and Dental premiums are tax-sheltered, other benefits are optional.
Life Insurance
- BC provides $25,000 basic policy
- Additional life insurance is available at the employee’s expense, up to three times the employee’s annual salary
- Rates are based on age (tax-sheltering is optional)
- Dependent life insurance policy of $10,000 is available at $4.70/month.

Accidental Death and Dismemberment
- Automatic on basic, included in supplemental rates, doubles basic life insurance and supplemental life insurance, if applicable.
AFLAC
- Cancer, intensive care and accident policies are available at the employee’s expense (group rates, tax-sheltering optional).

Long-Term Disability
- At employee’s expense, guaranteed monthly income (60% of gross monthly salary, 70% integration), 90 day elimination period.
Flexible Spending Accounts
- Payroll deducted, tax-sheltered plan to help defray medical, dental and/or dependent care costs.

Holiday Schedule
COBRA
- Continuation of health and dental coverage up to 18 months after employment ends, 29 months for disabled employees
- Employee pays entire premium plus 2% administration fee
- Continued coverage is offered for 36 months to dependents in cases such as divorce or death of employee, or if dependent is no longer eligible for regular coverage
