Department of Continuing Education
The Department of Continuing Education and Public Services
exists to meet the lifelong needs of the citizens of the region
and to represent the college in responding to community needs. The
department supports the educational, economic and cultural
demands of persons of all ages by offering noncredit courses,
programs, and other learning opportunities. It is committed
to the educational and economic development of the region
through scheduled classes, online courses, customized on-site
training for business and industry, and the Georgia Youth
Science and Technology Center.
Continuing Education courses are ungraded and receive no
academic credit. A wide variety of classes are offered throughout
the year, emphasizing both professional development and personal
interest. New courses are added frequently. The complete course
listing is online. Courses include:
- First aid and CPR training
- Licensure and continuing education for real estate and
insurance agents
- Professional training and development for many career
areas
- Customer service and workplace skills training
- Computer software training and certification
- Health and fitness classes
- Art and music lessons
- Classes for kids, including the EXCEL summer youth program and the EXCEL after-school program
