Gabenski is majoring in nursing at Bainbridge State. His plans are to become an anesthesiologist. The sophomore said the scholarship puts him on track to further his education. Fred Kitchens, executive director of the Foundation, said Gabenski is one of 11 students throughout the state who received the full-tuition scholarship this year from the Foundation. It has given more than $1.3 million in scholarships since 1965, including more than $49,798 this year. Gabenski marks the Foundation’s 1,048th scholarship recipient.
