Recently, Bainbridge State College electronics students from both the main Bainbridge State College campus and the Early County Center took an educational field trip to the Corps of Engineers Power Dam Facility in Fort Gaines.

The Corps of Engineer personnel took the students and their instructors, Associate Professor of Electronics Claude Bell; and Instructor of Electronics Owen Elkins, on a guided tour of the facility, which included the powerhouse control room. It was there that the students observed the control room operator performing a startup procedure on the facility’s hydro-generators. The group also toured the top side of Walter F. George Dam, where they visited the Dam’s lock operator section.
