As part of the Third Annual Carter Arts & Lecture Series and the Georgia Poetry Circuit, award-winning poet, Jeffrey Harrison will hold a free and open to the public reading at 7 p.m., in the Charles H. Kirbo Regional Center Solarium on Monday, April 11.
Harrison is a the author of five books of poetry, including The Singing Underneath, chosen by James Merrill for the National Poetry Series in 1987, and Into Daylight, selected by Tom Sleigh for the Dorset Prize in 2014.
He is also the recipient of two Pushcart Prizes, as well as Guggengeim and NEA fellowships. In addition, Harrison has published poems in The New Republic, The New Yorker, The Nation, The Yale Review, The Paris Review and many other magazines and anthologies.
A workshop will be held prior to the reading for aspiring writers and poets at 4 p.m., in the Kirbo Center Solarium.
