The Adult Education program began at Bainbridge State College in July 2012. The only non-Technical College System of Georgia program in the state, BSC Adult Education has enjoyed a high level of success in the first few years. Seventy people completed their GED credential during the first year and ninety completed the second year. The program has remained at the top of level completions in the state consistently. Decatur, Early, Miller, and Seminole counties are served by this program.
The program is designed for individuals who need assistance with GED® preparation and basic academic skills. Flexible programs with non-traditional classroom hours are offered so that we can meet the needs of almost anyone’s schedule. Our services include instruction in basic skills and GED® preparation. Classes are available at no charge to adults, 16 years and over, and are held in Decatur, Early, Miller, and Seminole Counties. No matter where you’re starting from, Bainbridge State College Adult Education can help you improve your skills and accomplish your educational goals.
The General Education Development Test (GED®) is offered as an alternative to a high school diploma. The GED® test is made up of four batteries, including , language arts reading, social studies, science, and mathematics. The complete battery of tests costs $160 and each test is $40 if taken separately.
To enroll, students must have a current photo ID and students under 18 need parental permission and a high school withdrawal form.

HOPE GED Grant
Legal residents of Georgia who earn a General Education Development (GED) diploma awarded by the Technical College System of Georgia may receive a one-time $500 HOPE award. This award can be used toward tuition, books, and other educational costs at an eligible public or private college, university or technical college in a degree, diploma, or certificate program.
