Bainbridge State College recently announced new faculty and staff additions.
New to Bainbridge State are Lisa Wimberly, director of college relations; Ashley Taylor,enrollment services coordinator; Debbie Campbell, instructor of business administrative technology; Heather Battenberg, associate librarian; Alex Anderson, a student help desk technician; and, Kerry Tabb, cosmetology instructor.
Alex Anderson is a student help desk technician for students. An alumnus of Bainbridge State College, Anderson received Associate of Applied Science degrees in computer information systems (microcomputer specialist and network operation systems) and electronics technology. He is a U.S. Army veteran having served three years before he entered college here. He lives in Bainbridge with his wife and four children.
Heather Battenberg joined Bainbridge State’s library staff in August as an associate librarian. Battenberg has six years of library experience, including two years in technical services. She came to Bainbridge State from the Bluegrass Community and Technical College, Learning Resource Center, in Lexington, Ky. She earned a master’s in library science from the University of Kentucky, where she was a member of the Beta Phi Mu International Library and Information Studies Honor Society. She earned a bachelor’s in English from Centre College in Danville, Ky., in 2010. While a student at Centre College, she was the circulation desk assistant.
Debbie Campbell joined the faculty of Bainbridge State’s School of Health Sciences and Professional Studies as an instructor of business administrative technology.
Most recently, Campbell was an adjunct instructor at Chattahoochee Technical College in Jasper, Ga., since 2008. Campbell also served in the secondary school system as a business instructor at Fannin County High School in Blue Ridge, Ga., from 2008-13. She was a business administrative technology instructor and the director of institutional effectiveness at Appalachian Technical College in Jasper from 2005-08, and a business office technology instructor at North Georgia Technical College in Blairsville, Ga., from 1998-2002.
Campbell earned a master’s of education in business in 1997 and a bachelor’s in accounting in 1994, both from Auburn University.
Kerry Tabb is the College’s evening part-time instructor of cosmetology. An owner of her own salon in Bainbridge for 22 years, Tabb has been the owner and master cosmetologist since 1990 at Tangles Salon, located in the Bon Air in downtown Bainbridge. Tabb also worked as a cosmetologist at The Headquarters for 10 years. She was also a cosmetology apprentice instructor where she trained and supervised students prior to taking their state board exams.
Ashley Taylor was recently appointed as enrollment services coordinator, where she supervises and participates in the provision of customer service for student enrollment. Taylor comes to Bainbridge State from the Albany State University Bookstore where over the years she has worked her way up from customer service coordinator, accounting clerk and then assistant store manager. She also briefly served as a correctional officer in Morgan, Ga., for the Georgia Department of Corrections.
Taylor earned in 2008 a bachelor’s in criminal justice with a minor in psychology and a master’s in public administration with a concentration in justice administration in 2011, both from Troy University.
Lisa Wimberly was recently named as director of college relations, where she oversees campus communications, marketing and media. Wimberly comes to Bainbridge State from Florida Gulf Coast University where she served as associate director of enrollment marketing and recruitment. A native of Moultrie, Ga., she also served as financial aid director at Moultrie Technical College prior to assuming her marketing role at FGCU.
Wimberly earned a bachelor’s in speech communications and public relations from Valdosta State University in 1994 and a master’s in public administration from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2010.
